How This Beer Box Is Working To Tackle Mental Health

A Problem Shared is a Problem Halved

Can I help change lives AND have Australia’s craftiest beers delivered to my door at the same time? If you’re shaking your head at the thought, don’t worry, we were too. But this is exactly what Craft Beer Coopery is doing. Changing lives one beer at a time.

Let us explain… It starts with Trevor: Shire local and owner of Craft Beer Coopery.

Trevor was in his early twenties when his brother tragically died in a sailing accident. A year later, the effect on Trevor had well and truly kicked in. After struggling terribly, he was diagnosed with depression.

Craft Beer Coopery’s ‘Conversation Crate’ was created to bring blokes together and fight mental illness.

Craft Beer Coopery’s ‘Conversation Crate’ was created to bring blokes together and fight mental illness.

Trevor looks back on his experience ...“It got really bad … almost terminal before I sought help and was diagnosed. There were so many signs where if my friends had known what the triggers were, it wouldn't have gotten nearly as bad as it did."

Twenty-one years later, shaped by his own battle, Trevor developed ‘Beer Boxes’. A way to bring mates together.

“You cannot do life alone”. A simple statement but one that Trevor firmly believes in. It’s a statement that summarises his mission: To bring mates together to tackle mental health issues. He knows firsthand that there are too many Aussies who are living through this.

In Trevor’s own words “blokes are pretty much useless at small talk”. With a beer in hand, he believes we can encourage men to talk and share. And from there ...well, as they say, a problem shared is a problem halved.

Boxes come with beer but also with a message. Featuring #Letstalk beer coasters, encouraging you to keep the conversation going and for men to talk. You will also receive information from Man Anchor, so you know the steps to take when a friend is in need.

Packs are delivered to your door with a choice of monthly delivery or a one-off treat. Perhaps a gift for a friend to say ‘Hey mate, I’ve got your back.’

So, love beer? YES. Want to support men’s mental health? Bigger YES.
