After servicing loyal clients in the Shire for eight years, qualified and internationally-trained dental practitioners Giovanna and Dr Anthony were ready to make a shift. A search for more space and independence would lead the pair right to their very own, freshly-kitted-out business in the heart of Cronulla - namely, Dental Lodge.
With four spacious treatment rooms available, Giovanna says the pair are keen to offer a new experience to their existing clients, with plenty of opportunity to grow and welcome newcomers. And on the topic of that commonly-faced fear, Giovanna and Dr Anthony are committed to alleviating it. “We offer three types of solutions to help with relaxation,” Giovanna explains - the first being nitrous oxide (happy gas), the second, prescription oral sedatives, and, for more extensive treatments such as root canals, wisdom teeth removal or multiple fillings, IV sedation administered by a registered doctor. Similarly, where kids are concerned, the pair go gently.
The team at Dental Lodge understands how important it is to create positive dental experiences from childhood. Hygienist Giovanna is all about making the first dental check-up as fun and entertaining as possible. “We make balloons out of gloves, use air to tickle their hands, and play with our magic chair, all while checking the health and development of children’s teeth.” Dental Lodge is currently offering a no-gap check-up and clean special for kids under 16 who are covered by a Private Health Fund. They also accept children eligible under the Medicare Child Dental Benefit Scheme.

Dr Anthony has successfully completed numerous cases, thanks to his extensive experience, continuous education, and use of the latest technology. For example, the digital intraoral scanner is a tool that clinicians at Dental Lodge use daily. This device creates 3D digital models of a patient's dentition for smile designs, treatment simulations, as well as for crafting crowns and mouthguards. “Impressions taken with this device not only optimise our workflow but also enhance our patients' experience,” says Giovanna.
