What’s On In The Sutherland Shire This November

We’re steps away from summer, but the good times start now

Slim’s Brew, The Shire’s Newest Brewery

Sound the alarm - we’re one month out from summer, from Christmas and from the conclusion of 2023. It’s November, and with festivities ramping up and the temperature rising, it’s a month of great food, even better drinks and brand spanking new spaces.

Beat the December rush and get out and about with your besties now. Here’s what’s on in the Sutherland Shire this November.

What’s On In The Sutherland Shire This November

Cronulla RSL

Visit The Freshly Renovated Deck Bar

Nautical in the most sophisticated way, the recently refreshed Deck Bar located within Cronulla RSL is a must-visit this month. Rest assured, they’ve kept the same great vibe but given their aesthetic a stylish boost and introduced a brand new revived cocktail menu (we recommend the Insta-worthy Spritz tower if you’re with a group!). Put aside a whole afternoon (we certainly did) and head oceanside for a visit.

Baked Collective, Caringbah

Pick Up A Sweat Treat From Shire Newbie, Baked

Formerly known as Cakes by Capes, Baked Collective has rebranded and expanded. Having opened their very own shop front, you can now grab all your favourite sweet treats oh-so-easily. You’ll find these guys at 2/156 The Boulevard, Caringbah. So swing by, say hi, and grab a cookie, slice or cupcake. Scout pick: Opt for the Biscoff Slice, you won't regret it!

Next Door

Kick Back At A Sunday Sesh At Next Door

Next Door are folding back their bi-fold doors during the summer months to indulge customers in the Sunday session to end all Sunday sessions. All happening from 3:00 to 6:00pm weekly, their modern Australian, share-style menu is simply to die for and the cocktails are designed to match. You bet there are Sunday Sesh cocktail specials and live music too! But without a doubt, their best asset is location: you’ll experience fresh sea breezes and next-level views.

Johnny Hu cronulla

Dine On Dumplings At Johnny Hu’s New ‘Sounds And Dumplings’

When we say dumplings, your mind may not go straight to live music and cocktails, but the crew at Johnny Hu proved that it’s the ultimate combo. While these guys provide the goods from Wednesday through til Sunday, they’ve introduced a brand new Sunday arvo gig just in time for summer. Titled ‘Sounds and Dumplings’, you’ll be treated to live music, $12 dumplings and a whole lotta good vibes at the end of every week from 4:00pm.

Celebrate The Melbourne Cup

It’s known as “the race that stops the nation”, but for Shire locals, it’s a chance to head down to one of our favourite watering holes for a relaxed afternoon. There are plenty of spots that are hosting Melbourne Cup dos, including Cronulla RSL, Union Place Hotel, The Botanical at Highfield, Salt Meats Cheese, Albi’s Taverna, and The Prince - just to name a few. So don your best fascinator and giddy on down.

La Favola

Check Out La Favola

Having launched only a month ago, the only thing fresher than La Favola’s presence in the Shire is the food they’re producing. This humble food truck is the creation of Italian born-and-bred Giovanni and his Australian partner. Authentic pizza is La Favola’s M.O., helped in large part by Giovanni’s history as a pizzaiolo (pizza chef) from the time he was 15. The menu spans Arancini, Pizza, Panini and Pizza Fritta and some seriously good sweet treats. Find them at 20 Woodfield Blvd, Caringbah.

Eat Lebanese

Take A Trip To The Revamped Eat Lebanese

Eat Lebanese is a classic business success story. They began as a pop-up back in 2020 with a simple goal of changing the way we eat Lebanese food, and since, they’ve become one of the Shire’s most visited venues. And if their ridiculously delicious menu was not enough to tempt, their newly renovated, chic and oh-so-stylish space will be. Colourful plates of meat and the freshest herbs and veg meet sage-hued banquette seats, track lighting and steel-framed doors and windows. Take it from us, you must, we repeat, must, Eat Lebanese.

slims brewery Engadine

Say Cheers To The Shire’s Newest Brewery

Slims Brew is so new it still holds an air of ‘yet to be discovered’. Small scale and focused on great brews and local vibes, Slims Brew is a product of Shire favourite The Blind Bear, where their creations can also be found. The house-made beers sit as part of an ever-rotating selection on tap and have been paired with an in-house food trailer that serves mouth watering Tex-Mex street food.

Cook at Kurnell

Eat Like A Brazilian At Cook At Kurnell

Save money on flights and eat like a Brazilian anyway: Cook at Kurnell is offering an all-you-can eat affair on November 4th and again on November 25th featuring live music, Brazilian-inspired cocktails and of course, lots of meat and sauces (and also vegetarian options) with signature South American flavours. Tickets are $65 per person for the event, titled ‘Churrasco Nights’ - well worth it for a never-ending feast if you ask us!

Cronulla christmas markets

Cronulla Christmas Markets are back on the 18th and 19th of November for a two-day Christmas-themed extravaganza held at Don Lucas Reserve, Cronulla. From 10:00am till 4:00pm, shop, eat, relax, socialise and wander through this alfresco, family-friendly market that’s not to be missed.

Secure A Seat At 50 Odd Years Of Crabb

Over her 50 years on this earth, funny and charming performer Annabel Crabb has been a farm hand, cookbook author, political correspondent, podcaster, mother, and defendant. Following up her sold-out season at the 2023 Adelaide Fringe, Annabel is bringing her one-woman show on life lessons to the Pavilion Performing Arts Centre in Sutherland. “Turning 50 is a real opportunity for reflection, growing and learning”, she says. “And if I have to go through that, there’s absolutely no reason paying customers shouldn’t be subjected to it as well”. The shows will be held from November 25th - November 29th and cost from $54.90 per person.
