12 Gluten-Free Friendly Cafes and Restaurants In The Shire

Pizza and pasta included!

Salt Meats Cheese

For an Italian feast minus the gluten, we recommend moseying on down to Salt Meats Cheese. There are gluten-free options for almost all of their antipasto, pasta and mains as well as homemade gluten-free pizza bases. FYI, as the pizzas are cooked in the same oven as the regular ones they aren’t guaranteed to be 100% celiac friendly. Our picks? The Fried Calamari and Lamb Ragu Pappardelle are total winners.

When it comes to Asian cuisine it can be a little tricky working out which sauces are safe for those with allergies but Alphabet St ensures there’s no confusion about which dishes are good to go. There are plenty of starters to choose from, including Tapioca Dumplings, with only one of their main dishes remaining off-limits. Their vego banquet is also entirely gluten-free if you’re feeling ravenous.
