Sick of queuing up for a squat rack only for your session to be cut short by stern looks from those next in line? Enter The Strong Body Method, a strength gym with a membership cap. We’re talking the community vibe of a boutique gym combined with the flexibility of a commercial gym - your program, on your terms and in your own time.

The Strong Body Method is the brainchild of Ash and Tim, two gym lovers keen to bridge the gap between commercial gyms and group-class gyms.

Previously located around the corner in a smaller space, TBSM 2.0 has just opened their new gym in Caringbah, to allow even more room for their members.

So where did it all start?

Having enjoyed strength training whilst living in the UK, Ash and Tim returned to Australia to find that women’s strength training wasn’t being prioritised or encouraged in commercial gym spaces. Ash shares, “A lot of women wanted to get into strength training, but the issue we were seeing was the confidence on the gym floor. So that’s why we opened our own space.”

what exactly does a membership at The Strong Body Method look like?

“Members come in and just train as normal but there’s still that boutique community vibe - everybody still talks to each other whilst doing their own thing” explains Ash. No fighting for space on the gym floor, plenty of equipment and less time standing around idle. Sound ideal? That’s because it is! The Strong Body Method has all your favourite equipment found at commercial gyms (we’re talking leg extension and leg press) but none of the wait time.

 

And, if you’re feeling the need for an added dose of motivation, the gym also offers strength classes, capped at 8 people per class. Classes take place in a separate training room on level two, so the gym floor is always available. 

You can expect staffed and unstaffed hours with the gym open for a generous 17 hours a day, between 4:00am and 9:00pm. You’ll also find daily creche hours between 9:00am and 10:00am complimentary for all strength members and accessible to all general members.
